I just shot a commercial for the Target website, demonstrating this lesson and everything complimenting everything so well. That is what my aesthetic is all about: a $300 flea market table with a dinnerware set from Target, sitting on an antique rug from my store. I have always been a believer in blending my products with my Simply Shabby Chic for Target line and also flea market treasures. And with our vintage accessories and furniture, people are connecting with the one-of-a-kind aspect. Customizing the furniture and making it their own, is another quality that is making people feel unique. My products remind people of the past, and I think the value there is the customer knowing it can be part of their future and their children's future - that it's heirloom quality. I have to tell you that it was a bit surreal to walk up the steps to Rachel’s beautiful home and step inside the world of Shabby Chic.

I have displayed in the stores the components of the inside of our furniture, to show its construction. You might remember seeing a few snippets of the photo shoot at Rachel Ashwell’s home behind the scenes on Instagram- and today I am sharing more details about the shoot and some exciting news. I am noticing quality is playing a big value. Something has to have real value or meaning in order for people to part with their money. Yes, it is for sure a time that people are being much more selective with their spending, not just because money is tight, but also because they have gotten out of the spend, spend, spend mode.
